In a world of friendly "monsters," Milton Muldoon is a shy young boy who dreads his first day of daycare when both his parents must work. At first, poor Milton is miserable. But, to his delight, he meets new friends and has a wonderful time despite his fears.
Soon, another new shy boy arrives at the daycare. Knowing how the new boy feels, Milton helps make something happen that no one has ever seen.

This story started my children's book path. My "market research" consisted of spending a lot of time at local elementary schools as a volunteer story-time reader. Soon, several ideas began to swirl in my head, and the name "Milton Muldoon" popped to the front. Long before the Pixar movie, a world of friendly "monsters" was a fun idea for the children.
