The curiosity of an unseen narrator results in a joyous and stimulating experience. Share in their inquisitive moment as they peek around the corner at a peculiar fellow with an old tattered artist's paintbrush. But take care, their discovery might rouse your imagination.
Illustrated with vivid hand-drawn artwork, this story of discovery and inspiration will delight creative minds of all ages.
This story is special to me; it expresses my journey of discovering art as a child. My elementary school art teacher, "Mr. Giles," would put on his old grubby smock and fancy hat every time he would demonstrate something for the class. To me, he possessed a special kind of magic.
The illustrations are created with a medium most children will know; colored pencils on paper. I wanted the artwork to be both aspirational and approachable. And it's the medium Mr. Giles first introduced to me.
As you share this book with children, please share my story. There is no greater gift than the ability to create something from nothing purely from our imagination.
